Emote Size Guide
Every platform wants the same artwork at different dimensions and file sizes. Upload once and this page generates the full ladder for whichever platforms you select above.
Twitch emote sizes
Twitch requires each emote in three sizes โ 112ร112, 56ร56 and 28ร28 โ as square PNGs with transparency. Static emotes must stay under 25KB per file; animated GIF emotes may go up to 1MB. Sub badges use their own ladder: 72ร72, 36ร36, 18ร18.
Discord emoji & sticker sizes
Discord recommends 128ร128 for custom emoji with a 256KB cap. Stickers are larger: 320ร320 with a 512KB cap (animated stickers use APNG โ export the static PNG here and convert if needed).
7TV, BetterTTV & FFZ
Third-party emote platforms display at the familiar 1ร/2ร/4ร ladder. The 7TV preset exports 32ร32, 64ร64 and 128ร128; BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ re-uploads work fine with the standard Twitch ladder above.
Custom sizes
Need something else โ a panel icon, an alert overlay, a Kick upload? Toggle the custom preset and type any pixel size. The resizer keeps your image square and sharp at small sizes using high-quality downscaling.
FAQ
Can I resize animated GIF emotes?
Yes โ that's the point. Every frame is decoded, resized and re-encoded with the original timing. Twitch accepts animated emotes up to 1MB; the size badge tells you if a GIF squeaks past the limit so you can trim frames.
Will transparency be preserved?
Yes. Static exports are PNG with the alpha channel intact โ exactly what Twitch and Discord expect. JPEG is only used as a fallback for opaque images that would otherwise blow past a size cap.
Can I resize multiple emotes at once?
Yes. Drop a whole folder's worth. Each file gets its own result card, and the ZIP download keeps everything organized per emote, per platform.
Why is there a 25KB limit on Twitch emotes?
Twitch caps static emotes at 25KB per file to keep chat rendering fast for everyone. At 112ร112 most PNGs fit comfortably; when one doesn't, this tool compresses it automatically and warns you if it still can't fit.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Resizing runs entirely in your browser with the HTML5 canvas โ your artwork never touches a server. Close the tab and nothing is left behind.
